Can I run Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem on my PC?

By Cliff Henjum February 13, 2020

The PC gaming world has been graced with an awesome new Action-RPG called Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem. It was in Early Access for a couple of years, but version 1.0 was released on February 13, 2020 on Steam. You can run this new hack’n’slash gem if your computer is able to pass the system requirements test. Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem plays like a mix between the Diablo franchise and the Torchlight franchise with a unique twist that doesn’t lock you into one class for a particular playthrough. Choose your own upgrade path, switch it up when you want, and prepare for a leveling experience that will blow you away. If you want to play one of the most popular games on Steam for the month of February, all you need to do is pass the minimum system requirements test.

The minimum system requirements for Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem are pretty average and similar to other games in its genre, like Path of Exile. Passing the minimum system requirements test tends to mean you can run the game at a steady FPS while using at least low-medium graphics settings. In your video card slot, your PC should have at least a GeForce GTX 560 Ti or a Radeon HD 6850. For CPU, at least an Intel Core i5-4570T 2.9 GHz or an AMD FX-6100 3.3 GHz is needed to get up and above the minimum CPU test for Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem. It’s much more RAM intensive than Path of Exile - your PC will need a solid 8 GB of RAM as opposed to the 4 GB that PoE needs. If you want to see the spell particles and beautiful levels in full detail, you’ll need a PC that also passes the recommended system requirements test.

While Diablo III is a much older game than the newly released Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem, the gap between their respective recommended requirements is larger than you would expect. The developers state that your computer should have at least a GeForce GTX 1060 or a Radeon RX 570 in order to max the game out while maintaining a high FPS. In addition to the GPU portion of the test, your CPU should be at least as powerful as an Intel Core i7-4770S 3.1 GHz or an AMD FX-8320 3.5 GHz. Much like the minimum requirements mentioned earlier, the RAM requirement is higher than its competition, requiring at least 16 GB of system RAM. If your computer is at or above these marks, then you’ll be able to play Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem with the graphics turned all the way up!
